I'm not a big fan of it, it either makes me upset and mad for character or just feel gross.
I'd rather it not be there when I'm looking for light fluff reads but I can somewhat tolerate it if it makes sense as a narrative element and not recurring occurrence or main focus to a story.
like, I read a romance story that involved a single parent whose child was a product of rape. which is an upsetting element to read about, however, I could read through that story cause it was only a small element to the story. they were a loving single parent and their partner they met was a great person who accept and protect their child and became an awesome dad to the kid.
