I made rant abt Shizuma under another comment and honestly Minato is legit doing his best in being more trusting in Shizuma but Shizuma is literally making it hard for Minato to do that.
I also reread the chapter and this one panel of Shizuma in the locker room where he is wondering why Minato is upset abt the underwear thing and here are his speech bubbles:
"She was obviously just messing with me"
-referring to when the director decided to play a little 'tug of war' with HIS UNDERWEAR (i cannot believe how this man does not realise how that is so wrong on so many levels)
"Had I known that would happen, I wouldn't have parked where he could see"
-B!TCH WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??? are saying that you would have been fvcking fine with having your boss touching your UNDERWEAR?? And you somehow think that Minato ignoring you wouldnt have happened if he hadnt witnessed you being so chill with having your boss harassing you? Shizuma rlly not realising what the issue is with him rlly makes irks me.
I just hope Shizuma learn what boundaries are so that Minato could fully learn to trust and love him.
I think most of the time in manga, the author doesn't stop and think, "This is weird or wrong. Maybe I should make it a learning experience. " And they just forget to put in growing experiences mixed with the drama. Plus, I think that most of the time for men, the sexual as@ault or har@ssment is just written wrong because it is harassment when your boss decides to take your underwear under his or her coat.
I think that when they write "nice guys" (especially from what I have read or seen from Asian culture), they write them without boundaries. They are written in a way where they are too nice with everyone, and since they are nice to everyone, they make their partners doubt. Being nice is different from "this is causing insecurities fo my parter how about we take a step back?".
Guys, you can set boundaries and put limits in your workplace. His boss -Onodera- is being unfair to both of them (I don't remember other guys name); first you can't use a worker to "help you communicate with clients", or take him everywhere because he understands you better, and then not take the other student under your wing too. This can set an unbalanced relationship in the work place, and it can create rumors. Just like it happened with his friend, his friend knows Shizuma, but still couldn't help himself from imagining things.
Now, Shizuma is a person who has problems setting boundaries, and everyone confuses that with being nice. There should be boundaries with your boss and your ex-girlfriend, especially when they are damaging your current relationships. And even more if you know that if you don't put those boundaries and limits, those relationships (with boss and ex-girlfriend) could evolve into something you don't want, and they can say or do things that are damaging to your relationship. He is young, but he has to learn sooner or later. Your ex-girlfriend cant put a tracker on your phone and still tell you that they like you and stick to you in front of your boyfriend. And no, your boss can't grab your underwear and keep it in his coat; it doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman.
Minato is right in taking his space, especially if he is uncomfortable or processing his thoughts. People don't always say they are jealous because they may believe they are in the wrong, they are imagining things, or they are possessive. It's alright, he is going through a process of change.
