Not sure if the crown prince "wanted" Diana because of a competition. He did genuinely liked Diana. Her humbleness, which she used to have. Her strength in her faith, and she was kind to the average person before her marriage. He admired her, genuinely. He liked her strength and determination for justice and doing what is right. But this quality is what is ultimately causing the rift. Her perception of what is "right" aren't aligned with his. Her stubbornness in keeping to her believes and not adapting it or not wanting to compromise is what is dooming their relationship. Nothing is black and white.
And from my perspective, the crown prince liking Hestia is only because she is a foil of what kind of person suits the role as crown princess, not sure he likes her as a person. He is just envies that their relationship is working and his isn't.
I agree with u on this one 100% with something to add.. Like u said bout her humbleness that she USED TO HAVE.. which right now she doesn't have as her twist of faith has made her arrogant.. Their perception of right used to be align.. But it doesn't anymore after she got big headed and accuse Kael of being cruel for punishing criminals that people are having headaches to punish because they make things complicated with politics.. When Kael have the guts to set things right.. She is arrogant to the point she realize that she is arrogant enough to think that now she is the crown princess she doesn't need to serve to the people.. Sucks to be dumb, but authority comes responsibility.. Not saying she should sacrifice her life so others could live but she should be thinking of how to improve the poor rather than focusing on changing the rich.. She focusing on trying to change the nobles makes me think like it's not in good will.. The way I see it, she is feeding her ego by trying to force noble to be frugal in order to show that she is the true noble (in personality) but contradicts herself as her action shows it is ok for her to be living a lavish life, wearing lavish clothes and jewelry, even dared thinking of using the country money to invest on something out of spite of someone she doesn't like.. Like wth was that.. Also applause to Hestia for pointing out why is it ok for Diana to go from rags to riches but when it is Hestia somehow she is certain Hestia is doing it with ill intentions when she doesn't even know Hestia.. Mirroring much..
Thank you for reading my rant on Diana.. I just can't stand her ENTITLEMENT and wna share my pov of her
I also agree with ur comparison.. Because me thinking Diana got arrogant n let it gets to her head the fact that she came from an orphaned no one wanted to royalty and her only redeeming worth is her previous righteousness+saint power but now she has none of those not that far off from girl who don't rmember bout her prenup n she ain't got nothing once divorce cz she let's the fact she married rich gets to her head so much..
I also hate her self righteousness when she drag Kael's name down and the tea party when Hestia speaking facts bout her fake and bias moral view.. The fact she didn't feel like it's too much to throw hot tea on someone for speaking facts but Kael can punish criminals despite his position n credentials..
Diana’s story is like one of those reddit stories. Marries into rich but forgets about the prenup/will and then acts pikachu shooketh when they find out they’ve got nothing in their name except for ego/pride and low IQ. And the crown prince, from what I’ve read from the comments, seems like he “wanted” Diana and wanted to win the competition with his own friend. Now, he’s starting to “want” Hestia, but, since he’s married to the pink trophy from the previous competition, he can see his own delusional and shallow state.
From the spoilers in the previous many comments, at least this will be having a good ending.
