I usually hate miscommunication tropes because they're so frustrating and usually delve from nothing. This on the other hand has a very good reason (at least on the FLs part) since it's due to her status and it's pretty realistic imo. It also helps that she's not dense (she understood the miscommunication for the dinner right at the end of it) - which was so refreshing.

    Exactly my thoughts. It totally makes sense for her to not speak up or confront him given the social status hierarchy with which she is familiar.

    I think it's SO interesting because they misunderstand each other at a very fundamental level. It makes for a fascinating romance when both parties are half-blind. It keeps me captivated.
