I think its the novel which he loves the most. So the protagonist of the novel....
Technically yes KDJ loves the novel thus YJH as the protagonist. But!!!! There it goes beyond that. His past self loves YJH soo much he even sacrificed himself.

Idk if any of yall noticed but the reason why "kdj would be killed by the one he loves" which is yjh is because even before the novel became a reality, kdj liked yjh(platonically at that time) since yjh was the light of kdj and also due to the reason that kdj was alone LIKE IYKYK like please get what I mean mean what I say also im not a novel reader but it's based on speculation and I hope I'm right....
