deliberate miscommunication…

It’s a fun story, but the use of miscommunication and withholding of key information is needlessly excessive to the point that it’s infuriating. FL is pretty clueless and has low awareness of herself and others. The people around her know this and yet they continue to keep things from her (mostly the dragon). On top of that, instances where she might learn something are constantly baited by the author with no payoff. Maybe they could change it up and tell her the truth and let her work through it on her own?? Because implying things isn’t working. She may be clueless, but she’s a kind soul and I’m concerned she might end up hurt if she’s presented this information in ways that might hurt her. We’ve already seen it with ML’s telling her how devastated he was after she passed, something made so obvious everyone knows. I just think it’s poor storytelling and cheapens the drama.

Pretty admirable of you to be concerned about a character that is written according to the author's plot
