I feel conflicted

I really love the story for its unique approach to a complex plot which is hard to find nowadays. At the same I can’t help but absolutely hate Klopp, like he’s just a horrible person through and through. Aerock is responsible for murder of Klopp’s pregnant omega, but he tried to intimidate him because Aerock was in love with Klopp so he probably felt hurt because the person he loved was going to start a family with someone else.

I feel very sad for Aerock, he’s a character that’s tragically in love with a horrible person and the story doesn’t promote the idea of being able to let go from toxic love. Instead he ends up staying with Klopp in his second life (huge disappointment) instead of moving onto find a new person. He’s a character of tragic circumstance.

On the other hand, Klopp is a bitch. It makes sense why he feels so hurt by the death of his pregnant omega, but what he does doesn’t justify anything. Aerock gets raped multiple time by multiple men and has several miscarriages which subsequently turns his life into a living hell, not being able to see his own children. I think Klopp is a self-conflicted character because he’s in love with Aerock, but at the same time he hates him because of what he did. Either way, Klopp is shitty because of his course of actions.

This is really a unique story, I’m also in love with it, because of how complex both characters are. And that the writer took time to actually establish a lore, to understand the factors why the story became extremely cruel. Also the emotions that both the novel and manhwa were really well executed. You’ll find yourself just wanting to read more.

But after reading the whole thing, my heart goes out more for Aeroc. They were both terrible people at the start of the story. But I hate how Clough was using Rapiel to antagonize Aeroc repeatedly, I was mortified that he could do this to his wife. And then I read the passage in Clough’s pov in s2, how being married to Rapiel would be so peaceful that it would be boring. It was connecting the dots to why Clough was such an asshole to Aeroc, in this arc Clough is affected by the imprint established in world 1, so his actions are amplified. But both Og and Au Clough probably felt frustrated by their strange attraction to Aeroc, but instead of dealing with it like a normal person would, the OG made a game out of it. In this second world, since Aeroc didn’t show any interest, Au Clough was just incredibly rude. He was trying to pick fights, by nitpicking Aeroc’s flaws. But couldn’t justify his hate, so he feels bad when he goes too far. Which is opposite to Og who feels justified. But it wasn’t revenge that he wanted, but the power to conquer Aeroc, to do what he wanted. That’s why his angry because he knows his reasoning is bs. His son saw through his bs ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

It’s kind of great how Winter subtly shows you the root cause to why the tragedy happened. Even Aeroc’s character in Clough’s return, explained why he acts that way. Why his misunderstood and hard to approach. He is this hopeless romantic, who finds it hard to connect with people because he could see their blatant desire, some approach him for his title or good looks. He felt uncomfortable seeing the greed and envy. So it points out when he saw Clough in world 1, he became the first person to move him, there was innocence that separates Clough from his world. If only Aeroc knew, that underneath Clough was actually a cowardly, rude and cruel man. Maybe it could have been avoided…

As for why he ended up with Clough again, I think Aeroc really just wanted to see his six kids in this life. It was the primary goal. He loves Clough but is scared of him and doesn’t want a relationship in the beginning. But took it as a sign that maybe in this life, he could be with his children…

Yeah he did. I’m just saying it’s not out of pure hatred it was frustration combined with anger. Years of resentment and longing that Aeroc dared to leave him and then his kids sided with Aeroc despite his crimes. Everything was taken from him. He feels cheated and a victim. It’s frustrating.

But I agree his 100% asshole!

Og Clough wanted to make things right that’s why he’s always asking Aeroc for consent. He has a weird way about it. But because they didn’t really communicate in world 1, everything he knew about Aeroc was base on a damn assumption. So when he saw that Aeroc was actually naive especially about sex and relationship, he took it one step at a time, he wanted Aeroc to fall in love with him. And I think after seeing Aeroc’s reaction to his advances, he realized that he was OG Aeroc’s first in everything and he just cruelly tormented him like he was this dirty promiscuous noble. So he didn’t want to repeat that mistake… he wanted everything to be special to ease himself that he did so much hurt to Aeroc. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

In the If stories he was also asking Aeroc for consent as well. Because he realized the extent of the damage he inflicted on Aeroc, when he going to check for fever and Aeroc looked at him with terror in his eyes. Aeroc was also crying so much as well.

He was also guilty because Aeroc was thanking him for letting him see the kids, that he will forever be grateful for this kindness he didn’t deserve.

It’s sad because he wanted Aeroc to cling to him and act human. But this wasn’t human, it’s more of someone broken, someone who sees himself beneath human. Someone grateful for the small ounce of kindness that he receives. Clough knew he messed up… when he was sarcastic about Aeroc thanking him for the food that didn’t taste good, complimenting it. He could see that Aeroc wasn’t being rude, but his standards of living was so low, that a porridge of oats and meat was like a feast. I haven’t finished reading it, but it was messed up…

And Clough will have live undoing that damage.

Haven't read the IF story yet, ah I've read some parts (it was translated into spanish and I read it through google translate lol), but I have no courage to continue it.

I have a question. Did Flop have some guilty or sth towards Aelock in if story? Or sth happened maybe that can make us feel satisfy?

He feels guilty. When Clough, especially when Aeroc was thanking him about showing him the kids. He actually didn’t sleep properly for 3 months nursing Aeroc.

It’s good you should read it.
