Yes true. The dead brother caused guilt on yeongwoon for liking seo-in and making him into thinking that seo-in doesn't like him. So he left and abandoned seo-in who till this day still is bitter about it

My gut feelings told be that the dead brother did something/cause a misunderstanding between these two.
Because way back and until now I think they still has some lingering feelings for each other.
