The more I read the more reasons I find to hate it

The brushing of child abuse, the lie that child abuse has no effect on the child's social, learning or emotional wellbeing and the overall comodification of children as props, little pets that won't care if you leave them alone as long as they have food and a place to rest. How the FL is always in the right unless it's inconsequential. The bending over backwards to the FL because she's a "pure","kind" and "cute" child as that's the ideal way a child should be and if a child isn't those things a child is immature and bratty she isn't allowed to throw tantrums over small things she isn't allowed to be selfish unless it caters to the story's perverse view of childhood and children that just feels so insincere as the children don't act like children but how one narcissistic parent would imagine their child. The weird age difference/ height difference between FL and ML that's totally ok because she fixed his trauma and "healed him with her purity" also he's pretty, skinny/buff(they'll change it later on in the story because skinny ML are a rarity) and hot and that makes it totally ok for him to not lust but love her because if hew as ugly and/or fat this story would make it look like it was the bad thing it actually is. Her mother ignoring her for a 3/4 of the story having no effect on her. The MC isn't allowed to act out unless it's "really important" and she's "totally in the right for acting out" she's like a bland inoffensive doll and it's so painful to see her like this. The weird pedo thing they threw in there where she "just knows" when an adult has malicious intent and the implication being that the other kids were stupid for being lured by a pedo and "it was their fault for getting raped" why couldn't they be smart like our perfect MC?. Why would a child who's been hit and berated constantly by adults feel comfortable around random adults? why would a child be compelled to act obediently without reward set in place? Why would a child like this not be hurt? Why would the story be like this?

The whole thing just feels icky like someone who wrote a story about children without ever having to take care of children. Little girls getting married to older men is bad unless he's conveniently attractive and "purely in love". Children who are victims of domestic abuse that lash out are bratty and selfish. The whole thing just feels like it's preaching purity and obedience just for the sake of superiority children only act kind when they learn fairness "that's not fair" as they want "fairness" for everyone and everything friends, pets, family.

I understand your complaints but this simply isn’t that kind of manhwa. It’s not about FL’s trauma and it being addressed. It’s about a little girl whose mother got remarried and her navigating her new family dynamic. If anything, she’s still in survival mode. She’s making sure she is a “proper” princess and doesn’t “ruin” her mother’s contract marriage. If you noticed, a lot of the political plot is happening in the background while lily is focused on her “princess” duties. There’s a few other manhwas that I’ve read which does the trauma and healing a lot better. BUT that’s because that’s the focus of the series. This one isn’t. The abuse she experienced is being conveniently forgotten for plot’s sake, which is shitty. I do wonder if it will be addressed further along the story, which is what happened with her recent breakdown over her mother “leaving” her. It’s also kinda shitty that the mom supposedly regressed because she regretted her actions but ends up ignoring her child for the majority of the plot so far. But if you think about it, it makes sense. She never was a good mother to begin with. It’s not a surprise that she’s forgetting about lily either intentionally or unintentionally.

At the end of the day, if you’re looking for something in the manhwa and are not getting it, it’s time to drop it for your mental health’s sake. No need to anger yourself over it. Personally, I don’t take this story too seriously and I only check back every once in awhile when there’s a batch of chapters to read. There’s tons of other series for you to read that might suit yourself more. Don’t force yourself to keep reading this. :D

I agree with this whole thread. The main comment contains good observation and valid criticism which are educational. You cannot really get political correctness from fiction, as it will also affect what the artists are trying to convey, however twisted or bad it can be. As much as the observations are true, you can only hold those in front of everyone and advocate for changes in how artists write. Although, I also really wish good representation in any form of media and art, it will be inhuman to filter the flawed ones.

The thing is we're not paying the artists using this illegal platform, so that itself is unethical and should comfort you at least.

dude wants everything to be realistic when forgetting we are literally in a fantasy world where magic and shit exist..
plus, of course lyrica isnt a bratty kid, she literally had to learn to work and to sustain her mother all alone in the slums. my gosh you people really take everything at face value and dont even care to go deeper

plus im sorry but have you even read the story?? its so clear that lily has so much trauma from her mother abandoning her, shes a strong kid so she doesnt show it well but she is incredibly insecure and it shows in one of the latest chapters when she breaks down. The age difference is honestly quite literally just bullshit, the two are only 4 years apart and they're literally both children??? i dont see anything wrong lmao. How are the characters being pretty a problem??? realistically they're literally royals, its obvious that theyre going to be pretty since they dress and get ready like royals and also i really dont see how this is any different from any other manhwa lmao, characters are drawn pretty because the artist wants to, so be it.
( ̄へ ̄)yall try to nitpick everything istg

she aint forgetting her, we are shown multiple scenes of them together and 1. shes an empress and she is in a contract marriage where she has duties to fullfill, 2. we are show scenes where lily is doing her duties and hanging out with her friends and brother, so why would the mother be added there? it wouldnt make sense 3. the mother is still figuring it out, the story is one of the only realistic ones that dont show a perfect mother, so yall are just not used to it, but shes trying to change and its happening gradually, she is relearning thow yo me a good mother so of course she wouldnt know how to deal well or pass time with her daughter properly. On the trauma side i think yall are misunderstanding lily's character. shes a kid that after years of abandonment has been shaped into a though kid who hardly shows her discomfort, so why do yall think her trauma isnt there or is forgotten just bcs its not shown?? she is clearly just living very happily and obviously repressing her feeling, which is literally shown in one of rhe recent chapters where she absolutely breaks down crying afraid of being abandoned??
    i dont get yall lmao ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
