the only thing i hate about this is the way the author tried to make us sympathize for the abuser by adding the scene with his kid and him apologizing... what even was the point?
i'm not gonna feel bad for someone who is abusive just because they're a parent, what kind of logic was that?? and to boot the abuser didn't even apologize to hiro himself, like what did him apologizing to his kid even accomplish for the people he previously abused?
idk just really ticked me off that the author gave the abuser a "tragic" backstory to downplay his actions. the whole him and his wife were cheating on each other, then divorced, then fought over the custody of the kid and that was the cause of his stress well SO WHAT? lots of people go through even worse things in life and don't take it out on others by abusing them
yeah i hate how the abuser didn't face any consequences for doing all that despite them having legally compelling evidence and a lawyer ._.
