I feel like the manga does play around with dark themes but there was dubious consent involved (she didn’t reject what he was doing until it was too much for her). Let’s be real, the relationship isn’t healthy and I think it’s meant to progressively get healthier but let’s not forget the way their relationship started was him telling her to become a prostitute cause she had no value to him and that he actively sleeps with other girls still even tho he loves her.
I don’t think the author would actually go so far to having him actually hurt her in any way.
The term consent here isn’t as easy to use as you may think. You’re talking about her giving her consent but he’s the one in a deep sleep due to a fever. In an different scenario, he’d be the one passed out drunk as what he’s doing is no different than sleep-walking.
Anyway, aside for the dark themes the author have freely explored throughout the manga, I believe the point really was to give Yoshino an idea of what that was like so it’s in her head now, without committing either of them to truly go there just yet.
idk how comfy i am with the genuine sexual assault cus they’re genuinely cute but why tf was that necessary
cus like okay if they consent but she didn’t so it is borderline rape n that’s a dark theme i feel like this not healthy but cute relationship doesn’t need
