"Beauties can cause the downfall of nations"

I read this quote somewhere once and honestly I think it applies to this manhwa. Call me a basher or whatever but Yooyoung isn't worth turning the country's political situation into chaos. Aside from being a typical delicate flower uke nothing's really special about him. You can argue that "oh but he's so traumatized and abused, so pitiful" but is he really worth the trouble he brings? Sure he's very useful for the angst, but otherwise? Sorry for my wording but he's just a baggage. Unless he becomes a strong MC in the future which I don't think will happen BC he's one of those White Lotus types, then in my book he belongs to the trope of MCs that I have a particular dislike for. The pitiful MCs who do not have an ounce of self respect and rely on the men they pull all the time whilst throwing everything else in their way out of order. I feel like a villain today so I'll say it.

It would've been better if Yooyoung never arrived at the palace.

Not saying he should've died, I admit that what he's experienced is pitiful, but looking at it in a logical perspective, everything would've been more peaceful if he never arrived. He came in and left, leaving everything in chaos.

Where do we get the plot if he doesnt exists? This story is about him. I agree that his demeanor is tiring but since it is not out of no where, he acting like that because of the way he grew up, being abused and whatnot it's justified compared to other white lotus who just simply naive. Really want him to get away with the general but well, aint gon happen#-.-)

Is it bad that I kind of want them to redo the whole story and have CP obsessed with the general like that would be a hard-core story

Yeah I completely understand that, and that's one of the reasons why I'm so helplessly annoyed bc without him the plot wouldn't exist, but at the same time if he never came into the picture everything would've been more peaceful than it is now. I'm not invalidating his past either, I'm just saying that he's not worth the trouble he brought.

That would definitely be hardcore considering their personalities lol. If it did happen though, imo, for it to work the General would have to be the top. Since the emperor is so toxic/obsessive it just balances the field out, plus throughout the course of the story this dynamic can allow his character to change for the better due to the General's caring and self-sacrificing nature.

I think that's a bit backwards to be honest. It's not Yooyoung who's the problem, it's the crown prince who's a complete psychopath and handles the situation incredibly stupidly because he doesn't understand the value of life and does not have any human decency. Sure, if we disregard that Yooyoung is a victim one can argue that he isn't worth the trouble, but we would not have this situation in the first place if the crown prince wasn't an inhuman piece of shit (to put it mildly). He's the one with the power and could easily have chosen to either send Yooyoung away or at least attempt to protect him so we wouldn't have this whole mess. If the system falls apart because of Yooyoung, then it was bound to fall apart sooner or later anyway.
So to be clear: if a beauty causes the fall of the nation it is still the fault of the people in power.

I respect that Yooyoung as a main character isn't to your taste though. And we can all agree it would have been better if Yooyoung never arrived at the palace.

Not everyone becomes strong after a bad situation some people get weaker, more desperate and clings to the pain more especially when you never know what love is and uke is a big example of that

Yeah, and I understand that. What I'm pointing at is LOGICALLY if Yooyoung never arrived at the palace everything would've been much more peaceful than it is now. He literally caused a rift between the country's literal general; the protector of the country, and it's damn emperor. Yes he's not entirely at fault that's why what I'm talking about his arrival instead of his actions. I'm not invalidating his progression, I'm acknowledging that he's that type of person, I'm just saying that for the trouble he brought, if he doesn't get stronger/tougher in the future in this manhwa then what was the point? I understand that everyone's different but if a person becomes a major catalyst for trouble and doesn't even have anything to justify it it's only a matter of time before pity turns into annoyance and doubt.
