They would borrow money from people around to make up for it, but they couldn't pay it back and ended up becoming fraudsters. They was burdened with hundreds of millions in debt, and in the meantime, they decided they couldn't raise their child properly, so they moved into the Red Mansion. The red mansion was where the ML father gang would be but since the rent is cheap they lived there.

I keep wondering why minimarts family was in the red mansion. It said the parents were successful and then lost everything but the red mansion seems like it’s for criminals. Makes me wonder if there was more backstory.
