I often saw people force the second lead to be endgame and keeps saying the mc did not get character dev just cause he choose the one he wants to commit to. they go on mass hating, so that next time the author might write where second lead wins but most of those stories don't get acknowledge like back to school - it isn't that popular and even people with second lead syndrome doesn't talk about it.
It's a mentality. It's a disease. It's why they called it second-lead-syndrome. It shouldn't be joked about and be proud to have that illness cause seeing them go crazy over fiction is serious and contagious. Glad I'm not infected =')
