Yes, Ian and Jo's relationship seems doomed from the beginning. There's no exposure about their relationship or Jo as a character. To me he feels like a secondary character that will only serve to the development of the plot or the other characters growth. I actually pity Jo the most in this story cause he's actually stuck between these two who has a history of 19 years. I don't know how someone like him could survive in this battle since he's someone who have never experienced anything like this before. The main story focuses more on TJ and Ian. Actually TJ miraculously decided to let Ian go in one the raws. It's actually a big plot twist of him finally wanted to let Ian go however Ian who wants to leave the gang life and past decided to be with TJ. Maybe he will join the gang once again.
I saw someone said in the comments the author has no preference with who Ian ends up with. Isn't that sounds weird and concerning for her not having interest about the endgame in her own story. I rarely keep up with her updates so I don't know most of the things. Also I remember someone said the story will have a bittersweet ending. I get that this is noir but I'm starting to feel weird about this. And what you guys mean by she is liking and retweeting hate tweets of fans about a certain character?
She liked the Jo hate tweets. Maybe it was an accident but she did it more than once and it was seen by some. Her saying she has no preference is strange cause her actions contradict that but maybe she doesn’t. With the amount of sex she shows of Ian and TJ unnecessarily (2-3 chapters for one sex), I do fear she favors a character over the other. It happens more than you’d think.
Perhaps she will make him end up with no one if she doesn’t have a preference on either of the ML. I’d like that ending.
More than one time? That's absurd. Why would she do that? It's a serious accusation against her but are you guys sure about this? Her saying having no preference is actually very very concerning. It's like she has no favouritism in choosing the endgame. It sounds pitiful to me cause whomever is gonna end up with Ian wasn't preferred by her. Maybe she won't say she has preference cause she has to keep things ambiguous until the end. I notice with her, she actually confuses people. She already said the will be an endgame but someone said it will be a bittersweet ending. I'm thinking something will happen to TJ or Jo.
yes. She has already been called out for similar issues. And, if I recall correctly, she also followed a Jo hater account, and when people called her out on it, she immediately unfollowed the person, but she followed that account again. If you stalk her account, you can see which character and ship she really favours which kinda sad and disappointing cuz whats the point of making the story trope love triangle when the another character only created to make the trope works.
Well many TJ and Ian shippers seem to believe that. They say that Ian contradicts himself when he said “I used to like someone” in the rooftop scene in S1, just because Ian couldn’t let go of TJ in S2 when TJ is about to go somewhere away from him for a while.
And how Ian is the one who’s holding TJ back in S2 now.
It took me an entire season to realise that this is a love triangle. I avoid them like the plague, but somehow this one is palatable.
Time for my controversial take.
The "chemistry" that a lot of people see between Ian and TJ is simply just obsession and addiction. Ian wants out of the chains TJ has held him in, but I guarantee if TJ somehow miraculously let go of them, Ian would sit still like a dog awaiting a command. They're both bad for each other, but TJ is too consumed to either realise or accept it.
Jo and Ian were doomed from the start. There is little hope of them ending up happy together. Ian is tied to TJ, and no matter how far Ian runs, he'll always have a line leading directly to him. Jo is being pitted against someone on a much higher level than him in terms of emotional fondness. No matter how much Ian may want him, a part of him still belongs to TJ.
Jo offers him stability but TJ offers him familiarity.
My prediction and wish is that Ian doesn't end up with either. He wouldn't be happy with TJ and it would just be so unfair to Jo. Gaining his freedom and starting a new life would be the best option for him. He's never been alone for long enough to establish himself as an individual. Give him a few years to figure his stuff out, then he can try again.
