I can't believe that this manhwa made us emotionally invested in junseo just for him not to be endgame. Or the childhood friend at the very least. I'm only annoyed because why give a second male lead a better and more tragic backstory (and make us, the readers, like him or even relate to him even more) + flush out his personality so well JUST to make him a SECOND male lead. We barely know anything about the actual ML. So lets see:
-We know nothing about his past or backstory (unlike the other love interests, heck, even the orange head friend has more of a backstory from middle school)
-How did our MC influence the change in the MLs feelings (we know about the red head and especially junseo, but how after the rejection has he been influenced /this wasn't shown nor told/)
-In the case of ML, the manhwa has a very bad show not tell principle (because if I wasn't told that the ML actually liked our MC even after he rejected him, my view on things would be that he just missed the attention and was afraid the MC won't love him anymore, so he activated himself when he saw how many rivals he actually had and became jealous /almost like a child after you take away the toy he never even noticed or played with/. Welp, that or the poor writing that lead to feelings being magically there)
-Let me not even comment the leading on before the confession of the MC, if I was him, I would also confess in that moment because the ML made the mood like that and basically baited him just to reject him ??? We never even found out why he did that or if it was even conscious (its bad even if it wasn't tho...)
-The most we know of the ML is that he has a fucking dog and that he loves him very much and even if yes, that is relatable, it's not enough to compete with the other love interests. And that he is a martial artist who helps the week, again, cute but not enough to actually feel like its close and personal.
-Also its okay that the MC didn't like the other love interests, I guess its life and you cannot like everyone who is kind/interesting to you, but I would maybe be even happier if he matured/accepted himself without thinking he is weird (AGAIN THAT IS THANKS TO JUNSEO WHO DID MORE FOR HIM THAN ANYONE ELSE AGHH) and ended up alone. Because to me he ended up being dumb for going back to the person who played with him and even rejected him at first /especially when you think about it and realize that it was a crush that wasn't based on personality (cause he didn't know him) or even a specific situation that made him like the ML, so its probably what? Looks?? He even ruined the friendship with junseo for that type of crush.
Even tho I know its not that deep, and they looked cute in the end, I simply can't help myself but pity junseo who deserves a world and was the best option + he did not deserve the feeling of heartbreak on top of everything else he has going on. And the ML didn't really put in that much work or emotion until the very end (thank the red head for making it a little difficult for the ML tbh).
Right??!! I am soo mad rn. We know everything about junseo even from the moment he started liking MC but we do nothing about the ML’s feeling. When, how and why he likes MC
