My comment was a minimisation of the situation. People say it started in WW2 but in fact, it started hundreds of years before WW2. China has alwaya wanted to invade Japan and Korea, no matter the dynasty. Korea will deny they were ever a vassal state but at some point in time, they did look to China's emperor for legitimacy claims to the throne. Also WW2 was not the first time Japan invaded abd occupied korea. During Hideyoshi Toyotomi's time as Shogun he attempted to invade China through Korea.
And also we beef but these countries have full blown wars online. Their level of fight is different than ours.

I agree with you on some parts. It is time to move on. War crimes are a natural part of war. Atrocities are committed during them. We can't be holding descendants who weren't even alive during them hostage. They didn't commit these crimes, why should they bow their head and say sorry. Boundaries need to be set.
If we all sat and talked about how you wronged me and I wronged you, it would never end because of our extensive world history of war, invasions, and plundering from each other.

I disagree, war crimes are called that for a reason. Theres a reason reparations are actually something a country can decide to give. They're not a natural part of war and what japan did can't even be considered that since they specifically targeted civilians. I dont know why youre saying the current generation shouldnt have to apologize? Whether they like it or not, thats history. Almost every country has had to engage with their colonial past, so yes, it's an extensive conversation many countries have.

Look what I say is they're feelings about certain history events valid they really don't need get over it forgive those events but new generation and newer Japanese actually not related and stands for those crimes constantly portraits a same characteristics in a same race is board line racism. This is not even a real based history manga so I say it happens for accuracy it doesn't picture a nasty jp war veteran it's just constantly portraying a race in a certain way. And I just agreed with you it's not like I can change the story I just stated my opinion on this matter ◉‿◉

Well I suppose my English failed me but it's not about history but a story that is not based of real events. I guess I'm too young to know about generational hate and never know apologize after killing people is a thing mostly I saw government signs peace treaty and that's it. I don't know what I get wrong rn exactly do they still in war like cold war in Palestine?

It's not a cold war but they have strained tensions. Japan does not like when Korea mentions the past and Korea does not like that Japan never paid reparations (money or help given to war victims) and that they hide their past to this day. Reparations are acknowledged by international law and places like Palestine have a right to recieve them. People got upset because a lot of people tend to ignore Japan's history. You seem very young so you might not know much about it.

This is why I said I didn't want a history lesson. Japan apologised, yes. It's up to the Koreans to decide if that was enough or not. I don't think reparations would ever be enough for what they did and I thinks that's one of the issues. I understand that practically most of Asia has beef to pick with Japan. I don't want to discuss that. My issue is that if there's a Japanese character, they are going to be treacherous little bastards. They won't have any other option. Like evil east Europeans and middle eastern Asians in US media. That's my issue here.

PLEASE, it will never end if we keep up this "ypu did this, you did that". It will NEVER BE ENOUGH for those who suffered through it. You must also understand that you are subjugating an entire nation to basically apologize OVER AND OVER for something they were not alive for. THESE INNOCENT people are the ones who have to pay taxes and the war reparations of an action they had ZERO decisions to make. They have to bow their heads and live in shame their entire life simply because they were born Japanese? I don't think that is right all. Every single nation has wronged eachother throughout history. Aknowledge it happened, learn from it, and move on. NOT make the other an eternal villain and condemn their descendants. DID WE NOT LEARN WHAT THAT DID TO GERMANY IN WW2?
My people were chased out of China for resisting the Han Chinese. Thousands of our young boys were castrated by the people in power of that time. The name they called us literally meant Barbarians even though the land they are living in and settled in was where WE LIVED FIRST. PART OF THE GREAT WALL WAS BUILT TO KEEP US OUT AND STILL HAS INSCRIPTIONS OF US ON IT. BUT YET, MY PEOPLE WERE ABLE TO MOVE ON. YOU AS A BYSTANDER CAN'T EVEN MOVE ON?

You're putting a lot of words in my mouth that I never said. When I said Japan does not acknowledge their war crimes, I mention multiple times that it is their government and perpetuated by the way they censor information. I literally never said the current generation had to live in shame? The past crimes committed by the country you come from doesnt define you, apologies are meant for moving forward especially when it comes to relationships between countries. I only said something because people seemed to lack empathy for those who still want reparations and may still feel grudges. The main reason I disagreed with you is because you said war crimes are a natural part of war. This is the reasoning many people have used for committing them, that its "natural" and there was no way to avoid it. I just disagreed because I dont think people should normalize them. Apologies if it seemed like I was blaming people, but my intention wasn't to hurt anyone. I come from a community that wants reparations so maybe that is why I have this perspective.
Why do they always have to make the Japanese the bad/sneaky guys??? (No, this is not a prompt for a history lesson I'm just freaking tired of seeing Japanese character in Manhwa and immediately knowing they are not to be trusted because the plot will make them sneaky in some way or another)
