I think that the chance that you'll stay happy after all that time would be rather small, I wouldn't be able to stand seeing people around me dying while I stay young and healthy. Maybe it'll change after a few hundred years, but I highly doubt it.
Not saying that you wouldn't be able to do it of course, besides, I do think that that kind of immortality can be very interesting and a lot of fun.
Living forever while you are youthful would be amazing. I understand the sadness of some people dying but soon you get over that. I would watch the earth as it self-destructs, watch the moon be annihilated, watch new planets be formed, etc. It would be very interesting. But the thing that really gets me is that in a normal life you cannot do all of the things you want to do(as in careers and jobs). I would probably have to live underground because of wars, meteorites, people trying to kill me because I wouldn't age and me knowing too much, etc. I would also love to get a P.HD in everything from Architecture to Science. I would also like to learn several languages and travel the world.
