The ml is tall and ripped he does fit the beauty standard he just needs to tone his midsection, which a crash starvation diet was never going to do, he just needed to keep an eye on the type of carbs and fats he was eating, probably reducing them but not changing his caloric intake and adding core engaging cardio to the end and beginning of his workouts he already does. The Mc is ONLY focused on his preference which is SUPER skinny like him for his model. That's his preference not the beauty standard. my point is he could have used his boyfriend but they were both focused on mcs ideal. Also he could use his bf regardless if he was actually innovative and good who cares what the beauty convention is

He already had a model for a good while, several outfits are probably already made to that person's measurements. He can't modify them to fit a larger build, he is in need of someone that can fit and model his clothes.
