Closing your eyes and deciding to continue without trying change is one of the biggest reasons for resentments to build. It's like an abusive couple who decide to stay together for their kid only for the kid to grow up completely broken because of all the trauma they absorbed from their family.
The ML should've had a moment where he regrets everything he did, a scene where he decides to change for the better instead of going back to factory setting and doing whatever FL wants instead like a robot.
It's not on the victim to fix everything, it's on the abuser to be better.
Shit like ''it's another timeline!!!'' don't really matter since he's still the same man he's always been, just because MC put him on a leash doesn't mean that the core of his character changed.
Reminds me of Abandoned Empress where the literal villainess called MC a fucking moron because she went back to the man who ruined her life with the excuse ''We went back in time!!! it didn't happen yet!!!'' like, what's stopping him from doing it all again? what changed?
Training the husband like a dog is not a solution, him realizing his flaws and changing for the better is.
Okay so I kinda reread the first part of the story and I realized I actually confused this with another manga with another red haired dumbass FL who gets sold to a cold emotionless dark haired ML who treated his wife like absolute dogshit until he got leashed but honestly my point still stands.
I don't see him changing his ways unless he got reborn with more than 1 braincell or getting rewritten by whatever plot convenience the author could write.
ok so hear me when I say this... he went through war in the other timeline. I'm pretty sure war changes the core of people, right down to their bones.
Therefore the young guy in this timeline who has never actually gone and done anything to the FL, I feel, would be completely different from the man who went through war for 2 years and came back after being forced to be married to someone he didn't know? Not saying I totally love the guy in the other timeline, he's totally wrong for what he did! but... he also... yknow?
Idk if it's explained yet but I'm putting my coins on either ML remembering his past life or getting fixed up by a higher power or something. Just having the ML at a pre-broken state isn't enough, there has to be a guarantee that he won't revert like a certain abusive asshole who's named after a season and won't be mentioned in this household!!
I am still baffled how MC from abandoned empress thought ''He didn't murder all my relatives yet!! he didn't cheat on me, rape me and murder my baby yet!! he's all good!!' like, give it a couple of years and a more attractive woman, he's still the same guy who did it all.
Gonna reread this manga, hoping with all 12 of my fingers up my ass that FL won't be a dumbass.
Edit: I confused this with another dogshit manga my bad ya'll. This one is still not that good tho, unless ML got magically fixed by a goddess or whatever it's still a pass from me. It all being ''misunderstandings on FL's part'' plot is cringe holy hell I hope it's not the real twist of this manga.
I hope he was a horrible person and either realized his mistakes in the afterlife or got rewritten by a powerful being or something.
Side note: no I don't delete or hide replies, idk if you can even do that. The comments automatically get hidden when you edit a post until someone replies again.
