The equivalent of nongendered pronouns would be they/them. If you want to talk about people you don't know the gender of you use they/them. Typically people don't do that because it's also used to talk about more than one person. Likely one of the reasons you don't see they/them used in translations because it might confuse the reader. Sentences would more likely have to be restructured also, but also context other sentences would help also.

Lmao I dun need an English teacher... I am Asian-American. They/them is still not going to translate pronouns that specify a person beyond their gender. That is why MTL goes back and forth from he and she and not they or them because as you said, it entails to ONE person not people. English is just not that rich when it comes to art of speaking ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ you can lecture me all day but it will not change that English doesn't have neutral pronouns...

When you read the translation you can see that the translator is not fluent, so the misuse of the gendered pronouns are most likely due to them not having the same concept in their native language
I don't think they purposely wanted to give the FL a genderless aspect
And if they find the use of he/she difficult, they surely don't know about the they/them use
And even if they knew about it, it would make no sense here as she is gendered
