I agree with you about the chemistry of Seth and Horus, it needs way more development for a love story with 150+ chapters. So far, it is more a story of Seth trying to redeem himself with his son Anubis and escaping Osiris. I personally like Horus, but their love scenes don’t feel like they are real lovers yet. Even they already kissed, it needs way more development so we can root for them until the end. And FG is not helping for them to be alone and resolve their love. And how it looks, the FG is going to stay alone again with Seth and Horus is going to see how his mom or the kingdom are doing.
Taking out all those problematic scenes, Ennead would have been a remarkable story telling. The R15 version has taken out those scenes and were replaced by more story and I think it is worthy. The r15 side story was cute.
I still love Ennead and I support the author in every way possible but I wish it has more romantic scenes or more development with the obvios endgame Horus.
That's why I speculated the author wanted a poly relationship but is chickening out now cause they already introduced Horus as the ML. Seriously, even the Geezus guy has more chem with Seth. I'm not saying I hate Horus but development is so little, to the point that readers are confused on who's the real ML is.
one of the seemingly controversial opinions I had on this comic and got downvoted for (lol) is that I truly felt like the foreign god had more chemistry with Seth because at least he gets responses from him, and the interactions are fun to read, foreign god, despite having way less screen time has much more characterization than Horus and his personality shines through. of course FG is a POS who R*** Seth but so is Horus. ugh all ML kinda suck here. to be honest the only character I like is Seth.
He feels vastly under developed. there's nothing I can think of him that makes him an interesting character worth following, his personality nowhere to be seen. I think this is a fault on the writing part, my constructive criticism is the author failed to give Horus a well rounded personality, also missed the opportunity to establish romantic tension early on, (at least to me) failed to establish chemistry between the two. their relationship feels extremely EXTREMELY one sided and the kiss they shared felt unearned, even after 100+ chapters. Of course doesn't help that the author has a very obvious R**** fetish which immediately undermines any interesting interaction be it between Horus or Foreign god (who I find to be more interesting than Horus, at least his personality is evident) I do get why some people root for Horus and the answer is simple: He's hot and they're here to read about hot men going at it. a lot of people tolerate lackluster story telling if the art style and character design is good. I'm done with the story but I stick around to learn from this author because the way they do paneling is really good, I really like their art but they suffer from somewhat weak character writing.
I'm sorry for the essay, wanted to vent lol
If you like good writing and well rounded personality in characters you might be interested in reading bongchon bride. it's here on mangago, I really liked it even though the art style is simpler
No, I agree... I did not want them to kiss. It felt forced. I pictured in my head two cardboard rubbing together...
Horus wants Seth, My annoyance is that he feels entitled to Seth's attention. I do not get it. He keeps saying he loves Seth and forcing himself into Seth's life. he knows that his mother does not have a good relationship with him YET he is in his space. Seth has said NUMEROUS times that he is not gay but Horus does not care. he even wants to deprive Seth from being with his son due to some misplaced jealousy..I just.. do not like his personality. he abandoned his duty to rule to chase after Seth. He is so irresponsible. The annoying thing is that the way he is badgering Seth for his attention without reprieve will make Seth give in.. not because he feels the same but just to please him because he has been with him from the beginning.. that is not love...
I hate the foreign god too, feigning ignorance like he doesn't know Seth is a god too and claiming he bought him.. the whole town is mad.
The author does have a R*** fetish cause that market scene where Seth was kidnapped and sold was so out of pocket, like, what did that scene do to the overall story?? nothing!! it was so off and almost made me drop the manhwa...
The only character here that is almost well-written is Seth. We have seen Seth go through so many personality changes from the beginning of the series to now. He has gone from the lovable devoted brother, husband and friend to the heartbroken tyrant and then to the repentant god.. He is so malleable and adaptable to every environment he is in.
That is why I am still here but believe me, If Seth goes through one more R*** situation again, I'll be dropping this...
Nah, I liked Horus before the face reveal. I always liked him despite admitting his characterization seems bland and needs depth and development because, so far he's just been a reactive character whose whole story has been developed around Seth (and it doesn't help that his face has been kept hidden for way too long), but I think Horus' future character development will be huge, as it will definitely include a BIG CONFRONTATION with Osiris. Meanwhile, he kept underdeveloped because the author's obviously been trying to keep him mysterious (like, with how the heck does Horus seem to always be "aware" and able to figure out everything? He's almost psychic, on par with Sekhmet in that respect). He's contradictory and mysterious because he's supposed to be A) the youngest and most inexperienced character, having his very first experience out in the real world, yet B) still the one destined to become king of all the gods, and the greatest one, at the same time... I like how the story makes us wonder how the heck he will make the transition from A to B, in the future... so, at least for now, I don't mind that he stays a bit longer as this type of "underdeveloped" character.
The Jez guy RAPED Seth??! Are y'all fucking kidding me? U fucking Shipp the Jez guy with Seth ?? When he buyed him from the merchants and then was a slave??! Do y'all remember that Seth was r by him? Or did y'all just forget it like that bc y'all are fetishizers and weird fucking ppl. Please stop with the bullshit!! And yes so did HORUS but he was controlled by that thing idk I forgot but I'd rather ship Horus and Seth than that bitch with Seth. PERIODT!! And Horus is still trying to get that character development and the author def wants to develop his story, character etc..
So did Horus, you can defend him all you want, but the mirror is an indication that part of him wanted that. Seth isn't blameless either.
Also, we're not shipping Jesus with Seth, we're pointing out that the author failed to make chemistry between Seth and Horus, that even Jesus has more chemistry with Seth. Basically it's author's lacking. And if we did so what? Every fandom has some blackbelly ships. Get over it.
So if Horus is still trying to get character development, it's not our fault that the author gave J and Seth too much development at first.
Also, J bought him to save Seth from the humans. In the latest chapter too, J said he didn't intend to treat Seth as slave in the first place.
Also, Jesus guy knew buying Seth as a slave from humans will do nothing to Seth. Do you think Seth will agree to actually be a slave for him? Do u also think Jesus guy thought so too? Of course not, a god willing to abide in the rules of humans? Bullcrap. J knew Seth wouldn't acknowledge, but he still did even if it costed him alot of money to save Seth. Just getting your facts straight. Next time please learn to analyze before writing hypocritical bullsh*t and labeling people fetishizers.
Nah, just cause he said that, doesn't mean he's closer. We're talking about how the author developed their relationships. You can't expect readers to believe they're more developed using a one-liner, when all you did before was make Seth have funny and annoying interactions with the FG.
Actions speak louder than words. So far that's how it went. However, the author must've noticed this and us starting to put some work just like the one you mentioned. But it's too late, 100+ chapters and Horus finally gets to say this one-liner on this chapter.
These three characters (Horus, Seth, Foreign god) have no chemistry between each other. I really dislike Horus I just feel like he is so childish and has little personality despite being in the story for 100+ chapters, and the foreign god it's not much better. I think lately I lost the plot of the story and would've dropped the series were not for the fact that the art style is drop dead gorgeous, so is the character design and the environments (and I also think despite it all Seth is an interesting main character and I do like him). The author/artist definitely knows her stuff when it comes to drawing and is extremely talented. the character design truly shines through, this webcomic looks incredible and is way above average in the style department. Had it not looked so good I would've stopped reading at least 10 problematic scenes back. I hope the author finds her way in her story-telling, her art is beautiful and it's what I'm sticking out for
