Angst

So I checked out the last few chapters of the ending, looks like it ends with 120 chapters. It looks like they went for the more angsty/bittersweet route.

Series of events went like:
-Final battle with everyone basically fighting to the death lmao, red head vampire dies, brunette lover gets shot by ML and ML also is the one to land the final shot to the red head btw. It’s a bit sad cause the brunette died first trying to shield the red head and as the brunettes body falls onto the red head, we see him shed tears, looks like he realized he was precious to him- but clearly too late as right after he closes his eyes and accepts when he’s killed by ML. The blonde enemy/exfriend gets mad that he killed the brunette, so he traps him and is about to kill the ML. MC sees this and threatens him with a gun and instead turns the gun on himself and unalives himself I guess as a last resort option for him to stop (unclear since I didn’t bother to translate this part). The blonde stops and cries over the mc and looks like ML in in shock after seeing MC like that and just accepts his death coming as the sun arrives- but the chapter ends.

-MC wakes up in the hospital and turns out, the blonde saved him due to there being one of those pills next to his body. The blonde possibly told him that ML is dead (but I didn’t translate this part) and so MC is discharged from the hospital and stays with the blonde, being taken care of by him. MC is distraught and mourning over ML. Then blonde tells him the truth later that he didn’t kill the ML, that ML left him something. The MC cries and leaves with the new info, going back to their home he had with ML and waited for him. He found a stone shaped heart with a message on it.

-Fast forward and it looks like years pass and MC is old. Possibly he turned back to human due to the pill? MC is on a ship in space (since it’s been years so it’s likely futuristic now) and MC offers to help with something outside the ship but it goes wrong, and he’s detached from the ship, injured and floating away in space. Then appears ML, saving him- and biting him again, turning him young again.

-ML and MC talk about what happened. It’s shown that ML was there when was in MC in the hospital. It was Valentine’s Day and the blonde was also there basically holding a gun up to ML but let ML say whatever. Looks like ML was saying his goodbyes and told the blonde to not let him be lonely. It looks like ML let MC live out the rest of his life as a human, not interfering. That was his gift to him, to allow him to live peacefully as a human like he couldn’t before. Though I dunno if it’s because of the pill or ML that mc went back to being a human. In MC’s side, he waited for ML for a long time but eventually stopped waiting and put the stone heart away. He moved on, got a job, found a new guy (human) and got into a long relationship with him that had fights and happy times. They broke up once but ended up getting back together, in the end the human lover passed in illness at old age when mc was 60. Then after that, mc finally opened the locked drawer he left the heart stone in.

-ML listened to his story, and also asked about the blonde guy. MC said they just stayed friends though he couldn’t like blonde guy the same anymore. Because of him, he was able to meet ML, and because of him, he was unable to see ML. Turns out blondie got married to another lady (random girl I guess) and they had a happy relationship, all the way until he passed at an old age. Looks like blondie let MC keep his grandson, like he promised ML that he won’t let MC be lonely by giving him over. Also that the grandson seemed to not be able to live normally until blondie helped save him and artificially did some stuff, and let mc take care of him. So they basically got back together and lived together, along with the grandson.

Anyways my thoughts:
It was a nice story. Though it had a bittersweet ending. In a way, a vampire allowing their human lover to live out the rest of their life as a human is the greatest gift. ML was very respectful in the way that he let MC just live out the life he originally would have had he not been a vampire, getting a job, falling in love, etc. Meanwhile he just waited patiently for MC, letting him live freely until he planned to meet mc again when he was near the end of his life, so he can follow through the promise that they’d be together forever. Despite the fact that mc likely spent more of his life with the human dude he got with in comparison to the small amount of time he spent with ML, it’s obviously implied that now that he’s a vampire, he will spend a much longer life with ML. MC is happy, and ML is happy. I do wish the rest of the story is translated as I didn’t read/see the events leading up to the final fight.
