I don't even remember my primary school classmates, how do authors think a little kid would remember some random child (ㆆ_ㆆ)
Lol I remember everyone back from kindergarten all the way to elementary. Ig it depends on how important the memory was for the individual. plus it was his first love.. ig

I remember my first crush, but to keep that feelings to the extend of adulthood is wild. Especially when it was a one time meet up or something like that. I get that we don’t know if they met again as children and developed their relationship as such (doubt it since he still thinks the other kid was a girl) but this type of ‘first love’ stuff is so over dramatic and such a cliche. So many stories rely on this weird method (kinda like fantasy stories that rely on it isekai) and it’s over done. I have read many good stories where they were childhood friends, were separated, and fell in love in the future. And very few ones that didn’t have their childhood friend as their first crush. It’s not many, but again, the charm of what I’m complaint about is so over done

I read this so fast just so I could comment. WHY DO AUTHORS RELY SO MUCH ON ‘MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR A SPAN OF 5 MINUTES AS CHILDREN AND KEEPING THAT CHILDHOOD CRUSH AS THE DESTINY OF THE LOVE YOU DESIRE’.

Omggg it’s so over done and such a heavy eye roll. I’m I still gonna read? Eh, yeah, why not. It hasn’t gotten to the pure point of cliché annoyance that Kiss Me Liar did. But geeez….that is definitely one of my peeves when it comes to romantic fiction lol
