tbh bj alex wasn't that good either. to me it was: delulu guy in love with someone who doesn't even like them, something happens and delulu guy leaves but them the other guy chases him. alex wasn't nearly as bad as jae but he was a dick in the beginning
Also… the MCs in BJ Alex were college kids so it felt like college kids maturing into stable (?) relationships. The MCs here are in their 30s… it’s less “aww, they’re figuring it out” and more “wow, you’re just garbage adults”.
