hm. i see your point. but then what i don't get is that he's a police (?) someone with authority, he should know who karhan is. he basically fought for their kingdom. at least a details describing karhan's appearance he should know of, or he is simply being an ignorant and a fool for his power and authority.
But it's kinda different from actually seeing his face, after all, everyone just describe the young duke as some kind of "terrifying man who you can't look into his eyes if you don't want to die". And if they actually described his appearance it would be super generic "a big guy with black hair and blue eyes"... And that head police guy looks awful at his job, so he must not have a good brain to think before action
