He couldnât have possibly loved him the way you keep insisting he should have but he still did love him. Sasya was deeply broken, what more do you want from someone who never got even a sliver of love and instead kept getting shit after shit? He loved him in the past and loves him even more now and has currently recognized that the way he was with Karel wasnât too great, again, because he had deep rooted mental issues and zero support whatsoever. But sure, that is the backstory
You guys keep using Sasyaâs mental illness as a crutch. He did not love Karel. He feels remorse and guilt now that heâs realized heâs lost the best thing that ever happened to him. Go back and re-read the conversations between Sasya and Julian and pay attention to Sasyaâs inner thoughts that followed. He did not love him. Thatâs one of the main points. He didnât because he couldnât. You guys just make shit up as you go along to fit your narrative.
Itâs not using his mental illness as a âcrutchâ, itâs recognizing that mental health plays a crucial role in human behavior which you and each of you with the mental capacity of a newborn child seems to ignore. Iâve re-read this story many times now and my mind has not changed because I actually pay attention to this storyâs details. Funny you mention Julian when in the flashbacks Julian plays a huge part in the misunderstandings between Sasya and Karel, not to mention how he constantly made Sasya feel as though Karel only had lust for him and that their relationship was fickle.
To further my point that Sasya did love him in his own way, in the flashbacks Sasya goes as far as stating that Karel is his family. I donât know about you but if I consider someone who isnât blood related to me at all my family, especially when it comes to a lover, you best believe that I love that person a grand deal.
I miss there old relationship
