Dongtae realized his like for Eunju was misplaced as longing for what was unattainable rather than genuine interest, especially after Eunju herself admitted that she was only nice to Dongtae for selfish reasons. Dongtae used up the last of the Final Die’s power to grand Mio’s wish to live a life unashamedly, and because of that remained a bread shuttle after everything. The ending is a positive note though, with Mio and the teacher both realizing he was getting bullied and helping him.
