I think it’s because finding a switch couple is hard to find. As much as it’s fun to have a specific role, isn’t it kinda interesting to spice things up by switching roles?
I get it but it’s weird when people beg for it when the story won’t have it. It makes more sense to comment about it on a story that actually have switches and be like, “I love that they’re switching!” Rather than a story that doesn’t have it and say “I really want them to switch!!!!” Up to the latest raws, it looks like the guy will continue to be the top

Although it’s pretty apparent that the characters are not going to switch just by looking at their dynamic, I’m pretty sure the reason why people are like oh I want them to switch or hopefully there’s the switch is because of the fact that the top was so willingly OK With being penetrated. And in a lot of stories, there is a lot of toxicity where characters will deliberately be like oh I don’t want to be on the bottom I don’t wanna be the “girl” which I hate so much and find irritating bc of obvious reasons. So I was actually very happy to see him fine with it because he was happy either or and that’s what I actually find important in relationships because it shouldn’t matter your role. And quite frankly, you should just want to be with them and it’s fine to have a preference but it is so annoying when it’s like I don’t wanna be the girl it should be like I don’t want to be the submissive one or I prefer to be the dominant one instead. However, because of the fact that it was stated with the whole will I be penetrated blah blah blah, and the character being all right with it people have gotten false hope which is a little bit funny because that’s obviously never happening cause like you can kind of see when a story will have a switch couple and when there won’t but hey (▰˘◡˘▰)
Yeah I totally get when people are happy that the guy is willing or doesn’t care about the positions, the one comment I saw that mentioned it said “I’m happy he was fine with whatever role.” Was what I was really cool with.
The main part I’m bothered by is when people personally say they really want it to happen, they really wanna see the dude bottom, rather than just point out how rare it is that the guy is open to either. It comes off as more of a fantasizing thing where those readers wanna see the sex happen rather than appreciate the character himself being so nice and open to the idea. At the end of the day, most of those readers saying it that way, mainly wanna see sex. Not so much the characters. So it comes off as weird.
I got that- but in real life, no one would be begging to see it happen or asking about what positions gay men choose. Hence why people are straight up asking for it on a fictional story, something they wouldn’t do irl. It’s just odd overall to see people specifically asking and wanting it to happen rather than explaining how nice it is the that the guy is open to the idea and how both are comfortable with each other.
