this is an insane take, how do you think the manga publishing industry works? or even just publishing in general? just because people are buying fiction books does that mean nonfiction books aren’t selling? Also saying artists/the art industry are easily swayed into following trends is just wrong. when people are exposed to a new idea or concept, it’s natural that some of those people will be inspired by it and incorporate it into their own work. nothing is ever 100% original and that’s a good thing
O.P makes a valid argument about artists being seduced by money.Fujoshi must change and stop supporting the same toxic yaoi plot in order for these authors to produce stories of substance. Sex sells. It is also the fandom's fault that there are so many toxic yaoi stories, as they continue to support them.
its almost like what im saying is that more people who whine abt rape dont actually support the artists they like financially vs the people who dont care who have paid for works containing rape which makes it seem like it sells more
im literally an artist myself, i know that nothing is 100% original but if you want to fucking sell your work or have food on the table, its more likely you'd follow a troupe or reoccurring theme that sells well
They're booing you cause you're right babe. Like if the ppl here read legally, they wouldn't even be spending their money on stories they hate. It'd save them a lot of time from complaining. Instead they read every update of Jinx or whatever and act like they're gonna cancel the author... so stupid.
Isn't it a win-win situation for you? You're enjoying sex*al abuse / r*pe and yaoi has so much to offer for that trope, you're the industry's target audience because you were able to "separate fiction from reality" individuals like you help these authors in exchange for your r*pe fantasy. And of course you're happy about the idea of "nothing will change"
ngl if you guys dont want anymore rape in yaoi/BL,, i think its time you stop reading shit ONLY for free bc i bet you that the many people who cry abt it dont pay for anything
and how does that relate? well if you dont pay for non-rape stuff, the rape stuff sells therefore it seems more likely that to someone who is in an art industry swayed heavily by trends, it just looks like rape stories sell more
you literally cant complain when you add nothing to the many artists' pockets in the industry.
