I really enjoyed reading this and liked how the translations included bits from the novel. I liked seeing the recipes and handcrafts they made and it was nice to read in the winter.
I guess the one thing I was a little disappointed in was that Siegt grew out her hair although I guess part of it symbolized the start of her new life.Then also when she went to her families home she dressed more feminine where as prior according to her family she didn't like to. Although, her outfits were beautiful. It just seemed like she confirmed to societal norms of her home country where when she was a soldier she didn't care as much.
