Ikr. This ain't a detective thriller lmao. I'm pretty sure it would turn pretty much the same whether he informed her or not. His mother was a prosecutor and skillfully hid the murder of 2 (?) People. But to him, she's his mother. He's at odds.
Professionally speaking its the worst thing to do, if shes murdered someone what on earth makes him think she would just go to jail because he asked her to? Hilarious, if she cared about him to that extent she wouldnt have risked going to prison after committing crimes. Best assumption to make is to think the worst if you ask me, hes a prosecutor, not a lawyer. Its his job to PROVE her guilty, though, due to familial bonds im not so sure the case would be handed over to him official.
He is dumb for telling his mom he knows, after all, THATS HIS MOM! She knows every detail about him, its like opening the door to let the murderer in.
It’s not his job what the case has been closed for a while and it was never his to begin with- he was a child when it happened. He just wants to find the truth out of his sense of justice, and the truth happened to lead him to his mom. It’s easy to say what he should do as a third party but if it was my mom who turned out to be a murder I’d def go to her for ans because to me she was a good person (even if she was actually evil)

If you think about it technically he is an idiot for doing that. But once again, if we circle back, that's his foster mother. Emotions can make people do weird things.
