I actually think that for a manhwa, it's a pretty accurate description of a toxic relationship (or multiple if you count all three of them), how it develops, gets worse and worse over time, showing why Haewon still decides to stay for a long time (Haewon feeling like he has no one else and he'll be truly alone if he leaves Haeyoung, Haeyoung making Haewon dependent on him, sometimes being nice when he isn't being violent etc).
It's still a hard read and while I don't like that he'll apparently end up with Haeyoung despite all of the abuse, it would still be pretty realistic. Ofc we don't really want realistic, we want Haeyoung and the others get their karma for all the stuff they put Haewon through. But it hardly ever plays out that way in real life, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is no such thing here as well.
So far this novel doesn't strike me as the wife chasing crematorium kind, where ML will suddenly realize all his mistakes, regret them and do a complete 180.
That would be unbelievable (and sending the wrong message) with how the abuse and Haeyoung himself has been portrayed until now. I don't see how this story could have a HE no matter how it ends.
for me to kinda enjoy this. bcs when i decide to start read this, i decide to not get attached with any characters. so, i see in big picture like.. its a lesson to not being fucking stupid and fucking naive or hell will send you three devils to make u learn life-lesson in the most torment way. so i enjoy this. mc has sooooo much chance to get away from haeyoung since he start hit the mc in middle school, but he choose not to? so yeah eat all that shit i guess :>
