Idk about others but i get to see comments that try to fit things on situation that's completely foreign and un relatable. They should understand the terms properly and be critical about scenes that is exactly an example of a term.

sure whatever theyre not real, but its insane to me that you cant just accept the fact that not everyone will agree on “its ok cuz theyre not real” if you read anything that id said which i highly doubt. i personally dont fuck with people who think these sorts of things are okay if its within fiction but i also must mention that in japan specifically this stuff is much more normalized even irl, so keeping that in mind its much worse when these troupes appear in mangas.
Agreed! I really love that people have started criticizing these things! It shows that they're not just mindlessly reading but also thinking about how it affects the people who are victim of this real thing that y'all call "fiction". I love to see it! It's the same as pointing at people and calling them weird who find it funny that one old anime character fawning over a goddamn minor. Like is it really bad to criticize these things? How about y'all really think about why people are saying such things before insulting them :)
i just wanna say that i think the people who say “bring back the og community” etc dont realize that “times have changed” and society is starting to bring to light issues like this that people didnt used to care about because people are becoming more critical and for good reason. we cant always excuse things just because its fictional. the glorification of grooming is so normalized within these spaces because “they waited til the kid was legal” and its really frustrating to see.
“a product of its time” i guess. that doesn’t justify anything but there will always be times when people start doing double takes and realizing why something that seemingly wasnt bad actually is. i also think people who “dont care because its fiction” should butt out of people who do care
