Personally I like it a lot. Yes maybe it is a slowburn but if things went perfectly smoothly with no issues and everything was figured out immediately it would be short, too predictable, too easy/perfect, and end too soon. Every story needs it's ups and downs even if the downs are frustrating and annoying. The only thing that annoys me about it is I don't know Chinese so I can't read ahead and the English translations are far behind the latest chapter. I'll keep reading because I look forward to the fluff (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
Different strokes for different folks.
For me this slow-burn is kinda very frustrating, especially when it's a low-stakes thing where it's really not all that important, but still very annoying when characters start breaking their brain over stuff (or just encountering trouble, whatever) that would be no issue IF THEY KNEW THIS ONE THING THAT'S BEING DANGLED IN FRONT OF THE READERS FACES EVERY MINUTE. Ahem..
Like for example when a MC is pulling the "uwu I bet ML doesn't love me"-line and meanwhile the ML is salivating over MC like a lovestruck puppy.
Ahem, so yea.
It's not that I enjoy slowburns. I'm impatient and want the good parts to hurry up. But if a story turns out to be a slowburn I need to be fed crumbs at least before chaos strikes and I lose it ヽ(`Д´)ノ lmao but no I guess because I'm reading lots of different stuff at the same time I'm distracted by the slowburn of some mangas/manhwa... but based on what I've seen for this one it's not bad to be honest. (▰˘◡˘▰)
Then you shouldve said, damn it's all things I don't like I guess this isn't for me not... I don't like this why is it so highly rated like?? Like it's not even some weird toxic kinky shit That's just being a hater for no reason. I mentioned BL cuz I thought you were one of those BL weirdos who come hate under yuri tags
The only thing I can think of is because of the demographic of authors for each respective genre? BL is mostly written by women, while GLs are mostly written by men, so the story telling, art, and framing of it all is very different to each other(I’m not saying all of it is like that). So, fujoshis(girls) are most likely going to prefer storytelling from a female author(it’s like the difference in a shoujo and shounen series. There are def writing differences in my opinion. It’s also why a lot of people on mangago(mostly female/fujoshi user base) hate the harem genre. While, other sites that have more male user base like harem genres. Its a difference of the male gaze and the female gaze I think)
Of course, this is just very basic observation and hypothesis, so idk lol. I personally don’t read a lot of GLs because of the reason stated above, so I was also drawing from my own personal opinion. (I like GL, but I prefer the way female authors depict romance more)
It’s all a matter of preference, but comments like those are def out of left field lol XD
When I saw the art and saw that it's Chinese webtoon...I could already guess what's the plot gonna be like, full of unwanted misunderstandings, the heart wrenching slow development and stupid characters choices...why is it rated this high though.... ╥﹏╥
