as far as I know, in korea baptismal names are commonly used within the church, it's up to the individual whether to make it as their official name or not and in this case I believe his mom never discloses her baptismal name to him

Ok so basically, I think we've gotten past seme being like insane. So now it seems like we're mainly focusing on the back story, why uke was his sponsor, and what he was being so secret about. Basically uke knew his mom and really cared about her since he was an orphan and she was the first adult to treat him nicely. Uke all this time has been trying to dig up info about what would have made the mom want to off herself by burning in the church. Well turns out the mom had actually killed someone and was being blackmailed by some student about it for money (why in the more recent flashbacks with seme about his home life they were poor). It comes to light closer to the newer chapters that the mom wasn't actually suicidal or killed herself, but she was murdered. In the very latest chapter its revealed that it was the ukes adoptive mother who had killed her and even managed to cover it up as she was the prosecutor in charge of the case.

The adoptive father being killed is just a speculation made by another reader. I personally don't think that's the case, but basically the idea is that with the semes mom, the man who she had killed was ukes adoptive father and that's why ukes adoptive mother killed semes mom. I don't recall any info on ukes bio parents (I read it only like a couple of hours ago, and 30 chapters in one go so while it's pretty clear it coukd be that I'm mixing it up.) All we know is that semes mom is the only nice adult he knew so he could've been abused, abandoned, or both. The only one who mentioned their parents being dead was seme when he was talking to ukes adoptive mom.
