It was explained that only "earthly" being have essence, the monsters doesn't have essence, hence why they kill humams to take them. When he kills a monster the essence they drop is from the humans/animals the monster already killed after it came to earth.
As for why MC couldn't find even 10k essence, like... come on he needs to strugle somehow at least lol
I'm just in chapter 14 still BUT what perplexed me was why the mc went out of his way to hunt only humans.
And I do get some humans need to be hunted like those lowlives who were attacking people for essences.
But why won't the mc hunt down these so called janitors & have at their essences. They too have them. They are invaders from other worlds or so.
Moreover, South Korea alone has over 50 million humans (most of them in Seoul), & the author has somehow made the mc struggle to find at least 10k essences if he is hunting only humans. And lets say those humans have all been hunted down by janitors or other humans and let say many humans are in hiding. It still doesn't explain why the mc doesn't hunt down the other wordly janitors instead of letting the cats die & the humans also humans hunted. （￣へ￣）
