I assume he was alive after the massacre but maybe did a lot of bribes and never pay people back so he ended up dying or it could possibly be an image like what he thought what would happen
It's interesting since Cheongdo is vague about what happens to Chris in the future. After reading it again, I think he means Chris got killed because of his evil deeds (maybe by his own team?), but since he is involved in bribery this early on, he should be killed earlier than the original. But Cheongdo is uncertain if Chris did bribe ppl in the original, and if he did, it somehow works out that he survives despite his lack of ability rn? If he didn't, maybe Chris will be targeted instead of Karos this time around, but still survive.
I thought for sure Chris would be alive at least for a while after the massacre but what, maybe he died before then??
