Actually I don't know what kind of redemption that usually reader expecting, but MC lost his memories not because of jumping off cliff but depression. Jumping off cliff is previous scene when MC tried to kill himself, and everyone though he was dead, but ML didn't believe it and during that time ML was losing his mind and often get hallucination of MC, then 1 year later he found MC in a village, he begged for forgiveness by trying self-harm. Later MC got depression, and ML realised MC needs treatment, then he called psychiatrist, MC is healing and regain memory and ends up with ML as lover. ML treats him better though in the end although still possesive asf. (Note: ML is MC's crush).
