It will make sense if they've been hanging out close to each other since they were a kid but they're long distance bestie. It would also make sense if he met him in military service per example and is now obsessed with him or something.

I hate how the writer literally slanders the friendship that they had as a kid just for the ML to look good. They could've just written a different foil for it to work.
It would make sense if he met Sandor when he was like a teenager but he literally met him as a kid and then they haven't seen each other for a very long time and then all of the sudden, Sandor loves him?
