Live action ending

I didn't read this manga but watched the live action (japanese version) instead and from what I recalled isn't it a happy ending where Night came back to her in a new body? I think it's the special episode after the ending. But maybe I remember wrongly

Its an open ending, but insinuated that he realises he probably will not come back to life which is why he asks the other dude to come back. The liveaction probably didnt want a depressing ending so didnt stick to the OG.

Ya I guess so. I also hate depressing ending. I think it makes sense for them to be able to give him a new body tho since the tech is supposed to be advanced

The whole reason he died was cause the tech they had couldnt support the fact he had gained actual feelings (I may be misremembering). It was such a rushed ending in the manga as well. He died within a chapter lol

Seems to be a pretty rushed ending. From what you described it's really sad that his death is only described in 1 chapter... I think Chobits does it better in this case. Happy ending. Android gained feelings stuff happens and they got married at the end
