Actually you’re right Luciano could’ve done more for his sister if he truly cared for her but not only killed her beloved then (because in later chapters Ines is shown that she doesn’t want to remember him much because their past was too tragic and OFC it is that’s why the guy doesn’t look for her either) and in the 1 life could like create a coup w the cárcel guy for the way his sister was horribly beaten. Luciano is by no means perfect, he doesn’t have to, but he acted as a sideline character who watched his close friend get beaten up by a bully when a real friend would stand by your side
You completely missed the important point of the dream Ines had. The dream establishes her as AN UNRELIABLE NARRATOR. Unreliable is the way she talks about her previous life with the painter, unreliable about the way she talks about her brother, unreliable about wgat she thought about Carcel. This whole story will continue to show her how unreliable she is. When she gets more memories of her brother, the reader will know even more how unreliable she is. Her brother didn’t abandon her. Her brother didn’t turn a blind eye to her suffering. Just wait and see it unfold just like she will see how wrong she was about Carcel.
And, her brother is her beloved. A man she would die for just like Carcel is a man she would die for.
You can have a beloved be not right by you. That’s life. Yes, she’s unreliable from day 1, but from how the timeline went, Luciano did little to change how she was treated because she died. And news, if your brother and father are agreeing to kill the baby who brought life back to your life, then that’s bad. Yes, she’s been unreliable ever since we saw Cárcel, that doesn’t justify her shitty family. That’s the whole point of for example death is the only ending for the villainess. As much as you want to change some stuff later then by all means, doesn’t mean I have to forgive you inmediately tho because the damage was still done
Why would her family need forgiveness from readers? All that matters is what Ines thinks about her family? Ines knows what kind of position she put her family in. She’s not blameless and she knows it. Only readers blindly thinks she’s blameless. She threw her family under the bus and decided to runaway with a man she knew for only ten days and left her family in deepshit with not only the imperial family but all the nobles who wanted their demise and an unsympathetic commoner public. Ines knows exactly what she did to her family. She’ll soon have to face the truth of this fact and thank god she does because it was better for her healing in the long run.
So, those who claim they’re her fans can think what they want. Ines loves her family and nothing will change that. You guys have no idea what her family has done for her in previous lives. At least other readers have already realized that things keep getting revealed so they stop simply relying on everything Ines said. That’s a solid discerning lesson for those readers who finally understand how this story is written.
Im never saying she doesn’t love her family and I also never said that they needed forgiveness from the reader, which proves you’re only trying to put your point which is valid. I only said that what you love can hurt you. And it has been shown many times. No matter if she realised it now, at that point in time, she needed her family. That won’t change, what they did won’t change. And for that reason I’m hella judging the sht out of that. If I were in her shoes for example in that point in time and my family did that, ima kill them. No matter how guilty they look. Yes Ines ain’t perfect but we ain’t saying she was. What you can’t deny at all, is that as imperfect as she was as every single character (and that’s what makes them better actually 3d instead of 2d) she’s still a victim
Her family was also a victim of her thoughtless, selfish and reckless actions. Back then, if one family member committed a crime against the imperial family, all family members could be put to death. This happened in the very first timeline recorded in this story. Innocent family members were executed because of one family member crime. Do you actually think Ines doesn’t know she bears some blame in this? Also, if she really thinks she didn’t do anything wrong, she will never have to repent for what she did to her family. Let’s see what she thinks when the time comes to address this very thing. How she forced her family into a position that they were pressured by all of society and the imperial family. Let’s see how much regret she has to live with after honestly owning her fault in this. Her family has always had her back as the previous timelines will prove.
Again, never said she thought she was blameless. But let’s go your route. The crows of the whole series, one if not the most influential family in all the freaking place, and they could do Jack sht when she was being tormented? (1 timeline) there were many if not easy to see then easy to see later ways of them to help a bit. Get her a maid, a confidante, someone that could be there for her at.Least. What does it help me when my own freaking brother comes with tears when my whole body is literally physically hurting? When I had already lost a baby? (Because newsflash, that does stuff to your head) She tolerated it for her family. And then she died. Second lifetime: she was out of focus, out of control. Claim sickness. Royalty never fck with mental illnesses never because they have a lot to deal with genes alone. Send her to a villa to be by herself=avoid the whole fiasco. And you know what’s worse is that you can see it possible, if they all had been a family. If she had been properly loved. Even after everything, Luciano could’ve told Ines to hide the child, to let it live. She can feel guilty all she wants, thats human, that’s healthy, but still same point, so ima keep judging
It’s quite obvious you think this story is built in fantasy. This story is written more off of classical literature. Let’s first deal with the fact that you still don’t get that there is more to be revealed about the crown princess timeline that proves Ines is an unreliable narrator. In fact, so you can stop these incorrect assumptions, I will just come out and tell you the facts. Ines killed herself when she was crown princess because she knew her brother was plotting a rebellion to get her out of the grasp of the crown prince. Her brother didn’t just watch her suffer. Her brother gave her a bullet and told her that if she doesn’t kill the crown prince, he will do it. Whether she kills that crown prince or he does it, he will take responsibility for it. He told her that they cannot live in a world where the crown prince exists. This is why I keep saying wait for the truth to find out. Ines herself later remembers this fact when she thinks of the fact that she never wanted her brother and her family to be put into the pit of hell because she chose to marry the crown prince herself. So she killed herself.
Ines then woke up as a 16 year old teenager who is selfish and thoughtless as teenagers are. Author even said her teenage mind influenced her behavior. She then threw her family under the bus. Instead of asking her father for help, she decided instead to use a complete stranger to escape the impending marriage with Oscar. That’s why Ines in this final life understands that she involved an innocent man in her issue and led him to his death. She decided never to make such a foolish mistake again. Therefore, she wants nothing to do with that path which led her to compromise who she truly is. Until now, Ines has never lived as who she truly is ever since she gave up many things for Oscar to please him.
As to the child that you thought could live, that child was doomed to death. If Ines hasn’t even killed the child herself, the child would have died through the crown prince’s men. A prophet of God even warned Ines that she was headed down a doomed path. That child was never going to live because that lifetime was doomed from the start just like the lifetime with the crown prince where her FOUR babies died. Nobody remembers them but Ines does. That’s why she says her children always died and that one from the previous timeline is no exception. It would have died from hunger through poverty ( child mortality rate was very high during that period) or through the crown prince schemes even if Ines hasn’t killed the child herself. Crown prince goal was to take her as his mistress and the rule says she cannot have an illegitimate child alive if he does.
Of course it’s written out of classical literature if you read half of all of it it’s basically the same formula and that’s why it’s amazing. Yeah Luciano was behind it, but dude, too late! She’s already in a stage where she won’t mind killing herself, which for anyone to get there they must’ve suffered a lot of trauma. Fck Oscar. But thing is, you’re trying to paint this picture that Ines is no good, unreliable and flawed which YES she is, and that’s what makes it so good, because no character thst so many people could like/hate/identify with would ever be perfect because that’s just that. Imperfection is beautiful. You’re also trying to paint that since she’s like that then she’s not a victim I think from what you fervently keep on, but she still is, because no person would ever get to be so flawed just because. All of that had to happen for the story to be as successful as it is, and I’m fine with it. But if you took off the glasses for a second, you’ll realise that it’s a carefully laid web. For this reason happens this, and so on. Luciano and his family could’ve done more, and for that, fck them. Ines loved them. It’s like the love you have for the absent parent that brings you cookies once a week. So ofc she was gonna die. Also, you’re thinking like that because you know the future of the story. At that moment, Ines knew nothing of the future. Didn’t know Luciano was by her side at all. How can you judge her then? Also in the second one you said she was like an “foolish teen”, and, so what? She was a teen afraid to die, desperate and fresh with pain. Give a hungry man a dead friend before him and he’d eat it. No more comments your honor, I rest my case (loving the discussing btw)
Where did I say she wasn’t a victim? She is indeed a victim of Oscar’s rape, debauchery and general awfulness. I shouldn’t even be hearing that from you because at least I know everything she suffered with Oscar that makes my blood boil. Manhwa readers can only make up stuff with their imagination. I read every nasty detail of her life with Oscar and the author didn’t pull any punches. Oscar was the one who made her life miserable. By the time her family found out, it was already too late. Her brother found out after her fourth miscarriage and after she was raped for two years. Ines even said in the manhwa that she never wanted her brother to find out. She hid everything from her family and even never saw her family because she cut ties with them to prevent them finding out. Her brother only found out because Oscar invited him to the palace and made sure he heard him raping his sister. That day her brother was so distraught after he left the palace that Carcel later gets the memory of it where her brother cried to him and told him about it. The brother couldn’t tell their father. It’s probably why Carcel ended up at the palace and Ines finally told someone for the first and last time that Oscar rapes her. After Ines confessed to Carcel, she felt free to die. That means the same time her brother found out about how she was truly living, she was already ready to die. Once she knew her brother was plotting rebellion, she decided to go through with it and took her own life.
Manhwa readers think they know Ines when they really don’t. Manhwa is such a joke when compared to the novel. Ines is very noble. She can’t stand the idea of Valeztena name being dragged through the mud. This is why it’s quite obvious when she wakes up at 16 and decided to act foolishly, the author explained that she was acting like a teenager. It’s probably why Ines in this current life said that her 26 year old self would have slapped her 16 year old self for acting so recklessly. But she also understood why her 16 year old self acted so irresponsibly and threw her family under the bus. This time around, however, she decided to act and plan accordingly so she can die properly.
Ines isn’t always a victim. Ines even admits that she is the one who forced her family between a rock and a hard place. If she had never acted so recklessly, then no one could force her family like they did in the previous timeline. She took away justification from her family first and made them sinners in the eyes of the entire country. These are Ines’s own words. Not mines. She explains exactly why her family acted the way they did in the previous timeline and why she takes most of the blame for it. Fortunately she met Carcel who helps her to mature and develop so much that she can at last make amends with her father and brother whom she love.
First I was sad past day and couldn’t answer but you just agreed with my point in the first line and then went to being the hater you are in the following lines. You said she’s unreliable yet you take everything Ines says word by word, and you think you’re somehow better than manhwa readers? Dude, it doesn’t matter. That doesn’t matter. Nobody was saying one thing was better than the other and you just bring that up because what you’re a “foolish teen” who needs validation? Well, like Ines was to her younger self, I ain’t gonna give that to you. I wanted to help you stop your hate but it seems life has to kick you harder for that to happen or you’ll just end like a Karen.
In the novel you can even see Ines actions as the unreliable character she is and what the freak is that thing in and on about her being noble. Yes, she was, and she killed herself for that, but to go to that extend it was not only because of that but also because of the trauma she got that you understand too. You started this whole discussion because you basically went all “actually…” when you both hated the prince who caused her trauma. And you don’t hate Luciano that I can see as much but that’s you, I still do, because I freaking know what the fuck is unhealthy family love and that was clearly that in the novel and in the manhwa. Hate her family, yes, absolutely, because still: there was always the possibility of “they could’ve done more” because like I kept saying “too much, too LATE”. Not enough trust there, not enough at all. And worse is that I love his face and colours but dude never.
I loved this discussion I really did but I forgot it started because I wanted to help the og person validate her point with whom I agreed with and hoped to get to a “both views are valid we’re both sorry let’s shake hands and be friends” but honestly, if you’re gonna be all superior just because you read the novels then go to forums and read the forums and leave these places alone.
All of sudden you developed into ‘I am a hater’. This is what people do when they’re losing an argument. I had no idea you are the type. Ines is an unreliable narrator until she finds out things that she were wrong about. I read the whole novel including the side stories so I know what is true or not. Ines also know what is true or not because she found out the truth and recognized the things she were wrong about and accepted them.
Don’t worry. I have no desire to talk to someone who thinks a person is a hater for speaking the truth. By the way, you think you’re an Ines fan while hating everything she loves. There are lots of fake fans of hers like you who don’t understand her. I just love how yesterday I read in the side story Ines with her father. Her kids who love Abuela. Can’t wait for fake fans to see how much, not only Ines, but her kids loves their uncle Luciano and their abuela Leonel. How they love their little cousin, Luciano’s daughter, who looks just like their mother when she was a child. So keep on pretending you know her and hate what she loves when she regret so much all the time she wasted distancing herself from her family in this life. How on Luciano’s wedding night how much she was blamed herself for treating him coldly for years and how much she missed out on her brother. All of this she confides to the only man in this story she actually bore her heart to about everything. Keep on reading because in the end, the people who Ines loves most in the world is her family, her beloved husband Carcel whom she says has always loved her life even in her most desperate times, and her father.
Her family can't do anything when they're in the wrong in the first place when they didn't know anything. Ines kept it a secret. Luciano only found out at that time what you see in the dream. That was when he first found out. He couldn't say anything at that time bc the prince's guards were spying on them so he could only tell her to get on the prince's good side. Later on when they were in secret, he does try to help her. He gave her a bullet so that she can kill the prince and he said he'll take the blame and start a rebellion. Ines didn't want her brother to be punish for the rebellion he planning so she kill herself instead with that bullet. So if you don't know anything, just wait and stop assuming her family is shit when you don't know the full story. Ines didn't tell the readers everything yet. She didn't kill herself bc of Oscar's abuse. She killed herself to keep her family safe so they don't rebell for her.
I Just wanna kill that damn bastard of a crown prince, just but the thought of him touching Ines, I'm gonna shoot him SHOOT HIM!!!!!
And his brother, I'm so disappointed in you, what the fuck were you thinking, after seeing your dear sister in that state, how the fuck can you tolerate this, you killed her beloved too, are you crazy!?
My dear Ines, I hope the better for you as soon as possible, I really wanna kill that asshole of a rapist and your insesible brother, just thinking about him gives me headache
