A lot of people don't need instant gratification to enjoy the story. We clearly know that the two leads have feelings for each other, and the exploration of those feelings has been compelling. It's a character study and written in a way that you can easily imagine these characters in a live action. You have to actually read in between the lines, instead of being spoon fed everything. The author is fantastic at creating a melancholic, bittersweet mood and conveying dialogue that touches the heart. Not a lot of people are able to create nuance in dialogue and static images.
It's fine if this isn't for you but that doesn't mean the author isn't doing a good job.
Also when we compare the time they take to in real life time, I think the pace they are going in would be the same as in reality. It helps when u think about it realistically ig, coz this story doesn’t seem that far fetched from reality. Also compared to the other stories we do have a good grasp on the characters like u said.
for how long this would go on i have no clue but judging the pace of this story, maybe this manhwa will stretch until 2027 or 2030. idk. this is no slow burn romance but rather drag things to make it seem long. it's just me but i think the artist probably enjoyed drawing backgrounds. It's cus i barely see the protags in the present talking about their past. (to make the plot move at least)
The side characters barely helped the plot move either like what role do the brother of the ML, the father, his mom play in their relationship in the present? ugh Glad the sister-in-law hopped back in the story atleast.
wonder when will they finish unveiling the entire past. MC admitted he wanted ML to rmb the past but he's bare helping on the progress of his memory loss???. Author just make them protagonists dawdle for 46ch+ T_T
