That gave me such anxiety. Lol.
They way my hubby proposed was equally as awkward and cute though. We planned a trip to one of our favorite places and it was almost a bust because the car broke down and we had to get towed the rest of the way (about 1hr and 45 min). We had to cancel the first day's plans to get the car fixed, but ended up having a great time walking along the pier and sight seeing in the meantime. Fhe next day we were able to go our favorite spot (a relatively famous zoo) and he'd been upset all day. Like, anxious upset, not angry. I kept telling him that everything was fine and the car's fine so let's just have fun. We were sitting at an outside table. I was eating a pretzel and he had his hands buried in a bag of doritos. He literally said, "I can't take it anymore! Here!" And plopped the box on the table. I was kind of shocked and he was going on and on about how the trip wasn't going as planned, how the ring felt like a weight in his backpack and how his plans were screwed up and he couldn't remember what he was going to say to me, but would I marry him anyway. All the while, he's shoving doritos into his mouth like a nervous maniac. I kind of stared at him and then was like, "Well, sure, but can you put the chips down first and ask me properly?" He was so embarrassed. I don't even think he realized he was eating chips during the whole thing. Then he got all shy and asked me to marry him more formally and I couldn't help teasing him a little more and asked if I had to put the ring on by myself. Lol. He later found a nice spot under some trees to tell me the speech he'd prepared, since he'd calmed down. No kneeling, thankfully. But it was so cute and adorable and the redhead here reminds me of him in that aspect. It was awkward and fun and so him. Something planned and perfect couldn't compare to that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
