Hey! Wanted to give my two cents on this. I don't think you're wrong for thinking this but to answer your question I think it's kind of the same feeling as what's the point of making a FM lead and M lead end up together if they're not going to make a family or what's the point of shipping two leads together only for the female lead to not choose any of them. Maybe that's not the main point of the story the author wanted us to focus on. Yeah it's great to see them create a family together but context of what the story is about matters too. An author might want to use the trope more as a tool to help us see prejudices in a new perspective as well. What I love and hate about omegaverse is how it makes it so thay there's a world where men and women understand the harrasment, abuse, and rape that a lot of women face. (Not saying men dont but a lot are women)
All in all, it just means that omegaverse is a genre that can help authors tackle a lot of things and while some authors use it for sexualizing and glorifying horrible acts (which unfortunately there are a lot of) there are also some amazing ones.
Sorry it's so long but hope this helps.
tbh I haven't really seen an omegaverse bl be executed in a way that's what your describing so it's like I've lost hope and the only redeeming thing is cute family time. That's why I wanna see it more often in omegaverse but I understand what your saying!
tbh even with FxM stories I still wish to see a baby at the end like daytime star but I don't mind when theres no baby cause like you said there's a lot more to the plot (especially ones focused around revenge) but with omegaverse my reaction is completely different cause the plot is just normalizing things that shouldn't be normalized
I don’t really have any other omegaverse books besides ones done by Roe Horvat like precious but those are legit porn plot books lol. I can recommend other BL books though just say what you’re interested in. Fair warning though I know more about dark books and fantasy books because that’s more what I’m interested in but I know a couple outside of there.
If a bl is set in an omegaverse and at the end of it they don't have kids as a side story or smth then what's the point of it being an omegaverse?? like if you choose to make your bl setting take place in an omegaverse simply because you wanna write about the mc life being hellish like being abused, raped, treated as a swx slave, in debt, sexism (omega is a secondary sex soo), and nothing else then ermm...
