It portrays his realization for a lot of things, like why does he care so much about the mc, then his helplessness at the situation because he feels even though the mc liked him it wasn't enough to stop him and how he feels he cannot let the mc go but is at a complete loss on how to do something about it
Looks like I'm the only one who thought this was the most insincere confession ever.
I'm not gonna trust this until I actually see the ML act like he meant it in the following chapters.
