He never liked Taehyuk as shown in several chapters ago. Probably hated him because he believed Taehyuk was a bad influence to the emperor, he also said so himself this chapter so instead of killing Hyoun like how he was instructed, it'd be better to rid the problem from the root which is Taehyuk.
Probably a rampage next chapter and Hyoun made some kind of a deal somehow to ensure the family line didn't disappear and they got reincarnated in the current time i think.
Ok, so I don't know the full extent of that old guy's plan, but it seems like he did a big no-no.
He knows the kid is a dragon, a dragon that already threatened to burn the fck out of everything, and I could easily see the emperor killing himself as he pretty much said he would to Taehyuk anyway.
So I am really curious where this goes because it seems like a hot mess.
