Wait, if she was allowed to take a paladin as well as take her nanny to her “chosen” family, why was the ogfl abused in the book? Wouldn’t a paladin and the nanny be with her? And even if they’re not, wouldn’t the powerful church check on her, at least every now and then, to see how she’s doing and if she’s safe?

My exact thoughts. You think these are plot holes?

Maybe. Tho it was said that the emperor’s younger brother was the one who made her miserable so maybe that was his doing too?

That's true. It most definitely was if there are some corrupt people in the church. It also makes sense that the church wouldn't check up on her if the church was getting false updates. The only difference this time is because the emperor was chosen by FL to be her dad and that disrupted the plans of the bad people in the church and people associated with them. So the corrupt people are keeping tabs and trying to intervene since it's out of their control

I think in her past life, she didn’t get to choose either. She was probably a very timid child so she just let the adults pick for her. They intentionally sent her to that abusive duke the priests could not care less about her well being. They probably would have sent some mean nanny to control her and some obtuse paladin who didn’t actually like her

Fair point. It's honestly sad. Cause they literally say she is a saintess but they treat her horribly
