I believe it was: injured + taken as slave, then getting the tribe to like/trust him as he continues to level up/heal, then actually got some sort of camaraderie with them and also I think he mentioned once about creating allies to help him with his revenge for later on since he’s already gotten to this point. In order to solidify ally-ship with them, had to make sure they were alive (finding the cure since past life they were wiped out by the plague) and now the madame spider thing is also a threat to his future allies so he has to take it out (and I think in general he thought would be better for the future if it was defeated).
