Don't hate it. In Korean the usage of this word is slightly different so it's ok to sometimes translate it as "love" (but it's true that there are other ways like "to have feelings for"). And in chapter 57 Jaeshin used also 연모하다 - "to love and long for someone". That clearly can be translated as "love".
If we speak about the translation I could say that I hate how they changed this part: "I can't count the times I've been touched by Jaeshin this way..."
Firstly: in Nok's thought there's no Jaeshin's name. Secondly: there is "a tounge that persistently rubs" and "tenacious hands which bind." And at the end (or we could put it in the beginning actuallyXD) "they are familiar to me."
Quite hot I would say, and totally different from the English version.
I don't know. I speak three languages so it just bugs me when things don't directly translate or are mistranslated because for the English readers, they'll understand it as just love. They won't think of it as 좋아하다 to Like or long for... Cause then later if and when (cough) Lee Nok says it, it's gonna have a deeper meaning if he uses any words like 연모하다, 소중히하다, or 사랑하다. The English word for love is way too vague.
Damnnnn I didn't even notice that difference!
I agree! "love" is just "meh" ;D
I guess you saw all raws by now. Do you think 좋아하다 will* be enough to lift the curse? That's one thing. And another one: did you see the Chinese translation? I love it*_* But I'm not sure if it's really accurate... Maybe it's just Chinese way of wording.
As I just reviewed I also remembered of "Say that you love me, just so I can hear the words." Wasn't it "...even if they are just (meaningless/empty) words". Maybe it's just me but the English version sounds even more like all Jaeshin wanted was for the words to be spoken out, in order to lift the curse. While it should be more... vague.
And right the next one "then I'll take care of..." I have no idea from what it came. As I tried to figure it out from Korean I'm on smth like: "surely, you ought to have any feelings for me /somehow like me /by any means (like me)".
I hate that they use the word "LOVE" because it's not. In Korean he uses the word "Like" in the latest two chapters!
